The KONI Challenge Series provides some of the closest wheel-to-wheel racing to its fans. The series is comprised of two different classes of race cars, all of which are production-based machines that are nearly identical to street-legal sports cars and sports sedans. The classes are determined by vehicle body style and engine displacement to keep the action on a level playing field. Name a manufacturer of high-performance sports cars and/or sedans and there is a strong chance they are competing in KONI Challenge events. Prominent marques such as BMW, Porsche, Acura, Ford and Mazda are active participants because they recognize the interest and enthusiasm their current and potential customers place with the speed, action and excitement of KONI Challenge. Drivers in KONI Challenge represent an accessible group of professional drivers and gentlemen and women racers. Many are successful in their business activities, and have taken up motorsport because of their passion for racing and their drive to win. And, the majority of these participants own high-end street cars. |
